Citizens Bank has announced a new grant program to support minority-owned businesses in the 11 states where the bank is active. A total of $1.5 million will be disbursed in 100 grants of $15,000 each.
To apply, a business must be at least 51 percent minority-owned, at least one year old, and have an annual revenue under $1 million. Applicants can submit a 150-word essay on how they would use the grant to strengthen their business and community, and applications must be submitted by Aug. 7.
The grant program also offers the opportunity to partner with SCORE, which will match the business with a mentor.
