- Connecticut Innovations, AdvanceCT, and BioCT partner on effort to promote Connecticut’s life sciences ecosystem
- Campaign includes a website with resources for entrepreneurs, job seekers, and venture capitalists
- Life science as been a growing industry in Connecticut
A trio of business organizations is launching an effort to promote Connecticut’s life sciences ecosystem, hoping to attract new businesses while supporting existing ones.
“Connecticut: Where Science Lives” was started by Connecticut Innovations, AdvanceCT, and BioCT. The effort was prompted by legislation passed in 2018 to position Connecticut as a leader in life sciences.
The centerpiece of the campaign is the website WhereScienceLives.org, which highlights life sciences opportunities available in Connecticut and provides information tailed to career seekers, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists. The site offers resources on business support, investment opportunities, open positions, life in Connecticut, and more.
In announcing the initiative, Connecticut Innovations said the life sciences industry has seen strong growth in recent years. The organization noted Pfizer’s success in developing a COVID-19 vaccine, a 513,000-square-foot life sciences incubator in Connecticut, and the growth of companies like Sema4 and Arvinas.
The campaign will also include social media as well as digital and traditional advertising, and is being overseen by the Farmington-based agency Primacy.
