- Connecticut hotline for scheduling COVID-19 vaccinations extends to 12 hours a day, seven days a week
- 10,000 spots are available per week
- State says the expanded hotline is one factor in preparing for a larger vaccine supply and ongoing progress in its vaccine distribution plan
The Connecticut Department of Public Health and United Way of Connecticut are expanding the hours of a COVID-19 vaccination scheduling hotline, starting today.
The Vaccine Appointment Assist Line will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. A total of 125 specialists will work the line to schedule vaccine appointments at 12 locations throughout the state. A total of 10,000 spots per week are available.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health says the expanded capacity will be an important factor as the supply of vaccine provided by the federal government each week increases and as the state proceeds with its vaccination plan. The state is in the middle of Phase 1b, a tiered stage that is currently open to residents ages 75 and older. In the coming weeks, this will be opened to residents over the age of 65. It is also expected that the phase will work in residents of congregate settings, front line essential workers, and residents with pre-existing medical conditions that put them at higher risk of severe illness.
Residents can schedule an appointment by calling 877-918-2224. Appointments can also be made online at ct.gov/covidvaccine. Vaccines are available to those who live or work in Connecticut, but not to out-of-state residents whose primary medical provider is in Connecticut.
The United Way says language assistance is also available for residents who require it, and residents with hearing impairments can get assistance by dialing 7-1-1.
