Summary by Dirk Langeveld
The startup and technology news site TechCrunch is inviting early-stage companies to go head to head for a chance at a $100,000 prize later this year.
As part of its TechCrunch Disrupt 2021 virtual event, scheduled for Sept. 21-23, the company will hold its Startup Battlefield competition. The contest is open to all startups, from anywhere in the world and any industry. It’s free to apply and the prize is equity-free.
Twenty-five finalists will be chosen for the pitch competition, during which entrepreneurs make six-minute presentations before a panel of venture capitalist judges. Top companies present to separate panels in another two rounds before a final winner is chosen.
The competition is free, and attendees can also receive benefits such as networking opportunities and free virtual exhibit space.
