FedEx has announced that it will choose 150 small businesses to participate in its E-Commerce Learning Lab, which will help entrepreneurs develop or expand their e-commerce offerings as part of their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is being developed in collaboration with the Accion Opportunity Fund, a nonprofit organization assisting small businesses with access to capital, networking, and coaching.
The program will offer a series of workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions with e-commerce experts, technical assistance in establishing online marketplaces, and support with various other e-commerce tasks such as customer service and managing orders. Participants will also receive a $2,000 grant to support their efforts to grow their e-commerce.
- The program will have a special focus on entrepreneurs who are women and people of color
- Participants must have an existing and active e-commerce process, currently produce and sell a packaged product, earn less than $500,000 in annual revenue, and be willing to attend all courses
- Application details will be released in June, with the program set to begin in September
- FedEx further plans to launch a series of virtual seminars and on-demand courses on more advanced e-commerce topics, open to all small businesses
