- Let’s Go 860 marketing campaign lets residents of southeastern Connecticut know which businesses have reopened after COVID-19 shutdowns
- Google Maps and traditional advertising involved in effort to address confusion over status of small businesses
- Partners include local chambers of commerce and media
Let’s Go 860, a newly launched marketing campaign in southeastern Connecticut, establishes an interactive resource that provides a single site where visitors can check several local businesses to see if they have reopened or are about to do so.
The initiative, a partnership of local entrepreneurs and business owners, uses Google Maps and business categories to outline business hours and any ongoing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Several chambers of commerce, along with local media, have also assisted in promoting the resource.
Let’s Go 860 has been managed by volunteers with local donations sufficient to carry it into October, but may soon start to collaborate with local businesses for funding to extend it.
