- Nearly two-thirds of respondents in a recent Ceridian survey said they were looking for a new job or open to offers from other companies
- Better pay is the main motivator, followed by work environment considerations
- Respondents hoping to find stability in next job change
If you’ve found yourself contemplating a career change during the COVID-19 pandemic, you’re not along. A survey fielded in August by the human resources software and services company Ceridian found that nearly two-thirds of respondents were thinking about getting a new job.
Sixty-four percent said they were either looking for a new job or would be open to leaving their business if another company made them an offer. The share was even higher among younger workers, with 76 percent of respondents saying they were open to leaving their current job.
However, these employers were also hoping for more stability in their next position. Sixty-four percent said they considered job security to be a more pressing factor now.
Better pay was the strongest motivator among those contemplating a career change. Finding a good work-life balance or a good working environment were the next most important considerations.
