About

Established in 1896, the Midstate Chamber of Commerce is an independent, private, not-for-profit organization to support businesses in the greater Meriden area. The chamber seeks to help businesses reduce costs and improve revenue opportunities, market them to the community, connect them to local students and professionals, and advocate for regional improvements and legislative support.

Mission

To deliver on four solid pledges to our members and Central Connecticut businesses community: promotion, leadership, education, and networking.

Resources & Services

Promotion

The Midstate Chamber of Commerce offers several opportunities for businesses to enhance their promotional and marketing efforts, including an annual business expo, a membership directory and community guide, a monthly newsletter, and regular Chamber events such as a monthly luncheon and presentation in schools and universities.

Education

Through small business workshops, seminars, and other programs, the Midstate Chamber of Commerce works to improve members’ knowledge on issues such as new technologies, regulatory and accounting topics, and local, state, and federal initiatives. The chamber also fosters business partnerships with schools to help students prepare for the workforce and make career decisions.

Networking

Regular networking events, ranging from Business After Hours meet-ups to new member receptions, provide a venue to meet and mingle with other professionals. In addition, the Midstate Chamber of Commerce has individual networking groups for young professionals and Hispanic leaders.

Leadership

The Midstate Chamber of Commerce is involved in several initiatives to improve the economy, workforce, and business environment of the Meriden region. It has contributed to efforts to improve transportation, foster government relations, promote innovate reuse of buildings, and more.
