NCDC started in 1963 with the mission of revitalizing a chunk of real estate that was left for dead. Now, that chunk of what was deemed undesirable land is responsible for creating an estimated $50 million in real estate taxes for the city.
NCDC estimates that the organization has brought Norwich some $300 million in real estate development since it was established. It continues its efforts to find real estate development opportunities to help create a thriving municipality.
