The U.S. Coast Guard’s primary facility for the research, development, testing, and evaluation of solutions to assist the service’s mission, the Coast Guard Research & Development Center (RDC) conducts operational and risk management analyses to determine the feasibility of new technologies. Programs address a variety of areas, including unmanned vehicles, surveillance and reconnaissance abilities, and environmental crisis response. When appropriate, the RDC collaborates with professionals in the public and private sector.
