About

One of five conservation districts in the state, the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District (ECCD) assists residents and municipalities in 36 eastern Connecticut towns with conservation issues. ECCD promotes best management practices, offers technical assistance, and supports projects to reduce pollution and improve soil and water quality.

Any businesses, particularly those in the agricultural sector, looking for a partner on a land management project or guidance on conservation matters such as reducing runoff or soil erosion.

Resources & Services

Conservation Projects

ECCD supports a variety of conservation projects to reduce pollution and protect natural resources in eastern Connecticut. These have included water quality testing and monitoring, stormwater management upgrades at housing projects, and partnerships with farms on matters such as preventing agricultural waste from running off into the watershed.

Education and Services

Business owners, especially farmers, can contact ECCD to get answers for any questions they have on environmental issues. ECCD also offers services such as watershed mapping and management, training programs and seminars on natural resource matters, and regular educational events.
