About

This organization began as the Quinebaug Valley Plastics Institute, a partnership between the local plastics industry and Quinebaug Valley Community College. Originally, it offered workshops, seminars, training, education, and employment opportunities to students entering the plastics industry .

QVPI changed its name in 2010 to the Quinebaug Manufacturing Institute, broadening its scope to include the entire manufacturing industry in the area. In 2013, in recognition of the group’s expanding presence in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, the organization changed its name to the Eastern Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (EAMA).

The nonprofit organization works with education and training partners to promote manufacturing employment opportunities as well as the region’s manufacturing workforce. It also provides a unified voice to advance the region’s manufacturing agenda.
