About us

First established in 1950 as the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association to represent fuel oil and gasoline distributors, this organization has since provided a forum for all petroleum marketers to improve their industry. It was renamed the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association in 2013 and continues its mission of advocacy on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the petroleum industry, while also supporting job training efforts and efforts to reduce emissions and improve the environmental efficiency of the industry.

Resources & Services

Technical Education Center

Operated by CEMA’s ICPA Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, the Technical Education Center offers technical training to licensed oil heat technicians. The center has been designated by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education as a private, vocational technical school.

Resources

CEMA offers a variety of resources on different fuels, including heating oil, propane, motor fuel, and the alternative fuel Bioheat. It also offers advice on energy efficiency, equipment upgrades, and more.

Member Benefits

CEMA members receive updates on the organization’s advocacy efforts and have the opportunity to network with other petroleum industry professionals. The organization also helps members promote equipment upgrades and other improvements to save their company and their customers money while improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.
