With a vision of making Connecticut a great place for smaller manufacturers to do business, this organization supports efforts in workforce training, mentorship, and collaborative efforts to benefit the manufacturing sector as a whole. The Smaller Manufacturers Association of Connecticut also offers networking opportunities and works with other manufacturing organizations to advocate on tax and regulatory issues.

Resources & Services

Workforce Development

SMA-CT partners with local schools and colleges to help promote the manufacturing field. Participants take part in company tours, job shadowing, and other programs to prepare for a potential career.


SMA-CT hosts monthly programs where members can meet and learn more about topics such as marketing, government, lean manufacturing, and leadership. All meetings are held at venues in the greater Waterbury area. The organization also has a SMArt young professionals group.
